Inverurie Music (SC044816)

Inverurie Music is a charity based in Aberdeenshire, North East Scotland. The charity’s objectives are to advance the arts by improving, developing and maintaining appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects by the presentation of public and professional recitals in Aberdeenshire, and to advance the education of the general public, school pupils and amateur musicians in Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City.

The society was founded in 1999 and was given charitable status in 2014. There are three main strands to the work of Inverurie Music which fulfil these objectives to the benefit of the local community. These are
i) promoting high quality music recitals by UK and international professional artists in rural Aberdeenshire,
ii) arranging workshops for amateur musicians led by professional musicians,
iiI) organising an award scheme to provide financial support to young musicians who attend four local schools (Alford, Inverurie, Kemnay and Meldrum Academies),

Inverurie Music has an active and enthusiastic board of trustees who work well as a team and are committed to the charity and its purposes.
