Zemlinsky Trio
The Zemlinsky Trio brings together three acclaimed London-based musicians, clarinettist Peter Cigleris, cellist Evva Mizerska and pianist Emma Abbate. Known for their refined ensemble playing and imaginative programming, the trio performs across the UK and Europe, presenting both core works and lesser‑known gems of the trio repertoire.
Currently, the ensemble is preparing a recording of British contemporary music, including premiere recordings and new works commissioned specifically for them. This project gives them an opportunity to engage deeply with the language of contemporary British composition, and to expand the repertoire for clarinet, cello, and piano.
Their programme for their recital will be:
Alexander von Zemlinsky (1871-1942): Trio in D minor, op. 3 (1896)
Nino Rota (1911-1979): Trio (1973)
Benjamin Frankel (1906-1973): Trio no. 2 op. 41 ‘Pezzi pianissimi’ (1940)
John Ireland (1879-1962): Trio in D minor (1914)
